📝 My San Diego Comic-Con Diaries (Then vs Now)

I started attending Comic-Con back in my 30s when everything felt big, fast, and a little chaotic in the very best way.

Now I’m heading back to San Diego Comic-Con in my 40s and reading these entries feels like opening a time capsule.

So much has changed.

But the feeling of Comic-Con? That part has always held a special place in my heart.

📖 Comic-Con Diaries

These are my real, in-the-moment experiences from Comic-Con exactly as I lived them.
The lines. The excitement. The exhaustion. The unexpected moments that ended up meaning the most.

And yes… probably a lot of running on coffee ☕

2009 - The 1st Year

2010 - The Chuck Year
2011 - The Being Human Year
2012 - The Firefly 10th Anniversary Year
2013 - SherlockeDCC Year
2014 - The Finding Friends Year
2015 - The Year of My 1st Panel & Party
☕ What I See Differently Now

Reading these back, I noticed something I didn’t fully realize until my 6th year.

I was so focused on doing everything. Seeing everything. Maximizing every second.

But the moments that mattered most?

They weren’t the big ones.

They were the in-between moments:
  • Conversations in line
  • Wandering the floor with no plan
  • Laughing at something completely random
  • Feeling like I was exactly where I was supposed to be
That’s the part that sticks!

💬 If You’re Going to Comic-Con…

Whether it’s your first time or your first time in years,

Don’t try to do everything.

Pick a few things that matter to you.

Leave space for the unexpected.

And pay attention to the moments in between.

Because those are the ones you’ll remember years later.

Those are the moments I’ve been writing about all along.
