5 Fandom Friday: Five Times I Totally Fangirled

WOW this is definitely the hardest 5 Fandom to date! WHEN DON'T I fangirl?! I feel like my entire life is fangirling. I would definitely say I am a professional fangirl. I love screaming and sharing everything that I love!

1.  Sam Witwer at Phoenix Comic Con 2013. Phoenix Comic Con that year was pretty spur of the moment. The timing was right to drive out and stay for a day, spending the night before in a hotel before the day of the con. Upon waking up and checking out of the hotel, who should be standing in MY lobby?! SAM WITWER, my number ONE man crush. #dead I already had a photo op planned for later in the day, but couldn't help but bother him for an early morning photo as well! MADE my entire trip!

2.  Elijah Wood at Nerd HQ 2014. Now EW has been on my man crush list since my early fangirl days. EW was my VERY 1st crush EVER! So when the time came to meet him in person for the 1st time I was understandably nervous. My good friend Meli talked me off the bawling cliff when I first spotted him. It was amazing to learn he was such a sweet and happy person.

3.  Any A Silent Film concert. Now I have ASF stories for days: my 30th birthday, the first time seeing them with my Music Maven and Gamer Geek, traveling to Portland to see them. Every time is magical, I get lost in my musical heaven. And SOMETIMES I even elbow friends in the face {accidently!}. The picture above says exactly how music and ASF make me feel.

4. My entire UK Trip 2013. Can one person fangirl for six days straight?! YES, yes they can. And I am that fangirl. The moment my flight announced we were landing in London I was on the highest fangirl setting and it didn't end until I was on my way back home. Everything an Anglophile could ask for was given to me in my six days in the England. The weather cooperated, I saw ALMOST everything I wanted to see and bought all the things!

I didn't need to have perfect weather, I saw lot of things only in passing and I could have done with just my memories. That is how much I enjoyed my time in the England and cannot wait to experience even more this coming October. JUST being there is enough!

5.  Matt Smith photo op. Though it didn't go as smoothly as I would have liked {read all about the debacle here!} as soon as the curtains opened and THE DOCTOR was standing there with a jolly greeting, all of that faded away. I cannot be more happy with how our photo came out and do have been able to experience it with The Gamer Geek, made it even more special!

Nerd Girls LUV Matt Smith

YES go ahead and swoon over this picture, I'll give you a minute....!

I have to be honest in my Doctor Who discovery, it was hard for me to let go of David Tennant as the Doctor.  David is MY Doctor, but as a whole, series 5 and 6 of Doctor Who are my most favorites.  I love the playfulness and youth that Matt brings to the role.  But what has really made me a huge fan of his, is him as a person.  Seeing him with his fans and embracing everything Doctor Who is something you don't see often, especially with something as big as Who.

I have never seen bad press on him.  He is always so happy, smiling and excited to be wherever he is.  I especially loved the thank you video he did to fans of Doctor Who {see video below}, his Nerd HQ Conversations for a Cause this year was so fun to watch and all the kind things he did during The Nerdist SDCC podcast!  He is such a genuine human being who, you can tell, enjoys every minute of what he is doing!  I love the a personal stories fans have, like Crazy 4 Comic Con in the picture above!

Then finally at SDCC 2014 The Gamer Geek and I were able to have our very own Matt Smith experience!  The entire ordeal was chaotic to say the least, but Matt himself made us forget all of that the moment we stepped into his presence.  Even after being rushed through hundreds of people in only a couple hours, Matt greeted us with a warm and friendly hello and a a big smile!

The Nerdy Girlie Team's SDCC 2013 Schedule

THAT sums me up in only a few words!  SDCC is SOOO close we can feel the rush to line up!  Here are The Nerdy Girlie's team plans {thus far}.  

Preview Night:  

*Show Floor? - The Music Maven does not have Preview Night badge, so she might just meet us over at the:

*SDCC Unofficial Blog Party at Henry's Pub from 8pm-12am!

*The Nerdy Girls are having a Nerdioke party Preview Night as well beginning at 9pm, really hope to stop by for a few just to say hi in the least...because Thursday is gonna be THE day!

Thursday:  

*Sherlock - REALLY debating when to line up for this.  Would LOVE to get there EARLY but we also have the party that night and I don't want to be tired for it, that being said, I can't go to the SherlockeDCC party missing the very FIRST Sherlock panel!

*EW Brave New Warriors - One of us will stay for this because MATT SMITH!  I will probably have to run to help set up the party but one of us will defiantly be there!

*Dexter - The Hunny is DYING to see this {as am I} but he will have to fill me in on all the last Dexter panel sadness because I will be living it up at.....

SherlockeDCC Party!!!  See you there at the Brick + Mortar from 7-10pm!!

Friday:  

*Defiance?

*Phineas & Ferb - they always have awesome swag and it is one of my favorite shows!

*Falling Skies?

*Making Roger Rabbit:  25th Anniversary - This is my only MUST see on Friday...it's gonna be a chill day I think.

*Metallica - The Music Mavin is ALL over this one!

Saturday:

*Futurama - NOON in Ballroom 20.  This is a MUST see as it is my favorite show and its VERY last panel.  I have only missed one of the panels in my 5 years attending.

*Being Human - SO excited that this panel is not over lapping with Futurama this year so NO Sophie's Choice!  After Futurama we will run over to Indigo Ballroom at the Hilton Bayfront for the 4pm panel. If we get in early a bonus panel before Being Human is The Nerdist panel at 3pm.  Fingers crossed!

*I also have to make it over to the Retro Outlaw booth for their Lea Thompson signing.  As soon as I saw this, I knew that I had to do my Marty McFly cosplay on Saturday!  Here's hoping there is a Delorean some where at SDCC too!

Sunday:

*Doctor Who - WHO'S CAMPING WITH US!?

*Doctor Who Cosplay Meet Up - directly following the panel out back of the Sails Pavilion.

*Community - this might be the last panel?!

*Always Sunny in Philadelphia?

*Ducktales Remastered - HUGE Ducktales fan, but can't miss Doctor Who. Will try to send The Hunny to this one and report back!

This will be the very first year that I will be attempting cosplay at SDCC.  The Music Maven and The Gamer Geek are going to join me as well!  Here is the game plan for myself as to what I will be wearing each day...still waiting to hear back from the other two...will update when I know for sure :)
