THAT sums me up in only a few words!  SDCC is SOOO close we can feel the rush to line up!  Here are The Nerdy Girlie's team plans {thus far}.

Preview Night:
*Show Floor? - The Music Maven does not have Preview Night badge, so she might just meet us over at the:

*The Nerdy Girls are having a Nerdioke party Preview Night as well beginning at 9pm, really hope to stop by for a few just to say hi in the least...because Thursday is gonna be THE day!

Thursday:
*Sherlock - REALLY debating when to line up for this.  Would LOVE to get there EARLY but we also have the party that night and I don't want to be tired for it, that being said, I can't go to the SherlockeDCC party missing the very FIRST Sherlock panel!
*EW Brave New Warriors - One of us will stay for this because MATT SMITH!  I will probably have to run to help set up the party but one of us will defiantly be there!
*Dexter - The Hunny is DYING to see this {as am I} but he will have to fill me in on all the last Dexter panel sadness because I will be living it up at.....

SherlockeDCC Party!!!  See you there at the Brick + Mortar from 7-10pm!!

Friday:
*Defiance?
*Phineas & Ferb - they always have awesome swag and it is one of my favorite shows!
*Falling Skies?
*Making Roger Rabbit:  25th Anniversary - This is my only MUST see on Friday...it's gonna be a chill day I think.
*Metallica - The Music Mavin is ALL over this one!

Saturday:
*Futurama - NOON in Ballroom 20.  This is a MUST see as it is my favorite show and its VERY last panel.  I have only missed one of the panels in my 5 years attending.
*Being Human - SO excited that this panel is not over lapping with Futurama this year so NO Sophie's Choice!  After Futurama we will run over to Indigo Ballroom at the Hilton Bayfront for the 4pm panel. If we get in early a bonus panel before Being Human is The Nerdist panel at 3pm.  Fingers crossed!

*I also have to make it over to the Retro Outlaw booth for their Lea Thompson signing.  As soon as I saw this, I knew that I had to do my Marty McFly cosplay on Saturday!  Here's hoping there is a Delorean some where at SDCC too!

Sunday:
*Doctor Who - WHO'S CAMPING WITH US!?
*Doctor Who Cosplay Meet Up - directly following the panel out back of the Sails Pavilion.
*Community - this might be the last panel?!
*Always Sunny in Philadelphia?
*Ducktales Remastered - HUGE Ducktales fan, but can't miss Doctor Who. Will try to send The Hunny to this one and report back!

This will be the very first year that I will be attempting cosplay at SDCC.  The Music Maven and The Gamer Geek are going to join me as well!  Here is the game plan for myself as to what I will be wearing each day...still waiting to hear back from the other two...will update when I know for sure :)

San Diego Comic Con 2011: Day 3

Good family picture....

Tired family picture...3rd day waking up at 6am.

Our early rising was for the Being Human panel at the Indigo Ballroom at the Hilton Bayfront Hotel.  When we arrived to the line at 7:30am there were already over 200 people in line.  And after our arrival the line BLEW UP!  We were let in around 9:30am for The Attack of the Show panel.  @The_Gamer_Geek was super excited about this one, he LOVES this show and was able to meet the hosts the day before, also very happy about that:)  For that panel we ended up being about 14 rows back.  After that the family left and the hunny got us up a few more rows for the Sanctuary panel.  This was break time for us, as the Being Human panel wasn't until afterwards.

FINALLY the time was upon us...we moved up a couple more rows and they showed a lil preview of next season (which they had only been filming for a week) and it was exciting!  The three main actors Sam Witwer (my favorite), Meaghan Rath and Sam Huntington (the hunny's fav) were AWESOME.  They were super talkative, personable, friendly and very FUNNY!  This was deffinalty one of the highlights of my con.

We left directly after that and walked around the floor a bit.  Phineas and Ferb were having a signing.

And I decied to finally venture into the Perry mobile and guess who was standing right next to me Mr. Perry himself Dee Bradley Baker!

Someone in line was nice enough to snap a picture of me with him.

After reuniting with the family downtown to get our FREE Cowboys and Aliens Ts, I saw a tweet from The Nerd Machine that there were 40 tickets available for the Nathan Fillion panel at their Nerd HQ, and we were RIGHT by it, so The Music Maven and I ran over there and were able to get in, right as Zachary Levi was beginning the panel!

We even had Chuck actors Joshua Gomez (Morgan Grimes) and Ryan McPartlin (Capt. Awesome) sitting directly behind us!!

Zach introduced Nathan and gave him the sweetest hug...awwwww!!

Nathan began with wishing and wishing and wishing how much his co-star Jewel Staite could be there and we were all like....????? and then.....

She walks out! :)  Nathan then said he would so much rather Jewel be there than Adam Baldwin! and then......

ADAM came out!!!  This was such a great panel.  They talked about nothing in particular but it was super funny and at sometimes sweet and of course always charming!

Then the end they posed for the 200 attends.  It was a awesome and intimate setting...so thankful for Twitter!

After the panel we headed downstairs to check out NERDHQ.  I LOVED the Lego Nerd Machine and The Music Maven bought me my NERD HQ Hat...which the Hunny ended up stealing from me!

By this time we were exhausted from 4 days of SDCC and early call times!  We walked through the Hard Rock Hotel, where I had to stop for a picture with my FAV magazine, then just hung out on a bench in front of the hotel to take a load off!  Shortly after sitting down we saw Nathan Fillion walk out "in disguise" he was wearing exactly what he was wearing to the NERD HQ panel but with his "disguise."  Will post a picture of it in tomorrow's blog post, since he might want to walk around the con with it tomorrow too:) THAT WAS FUN!

AND GUESS WHO DECIDES TO WALK BY!?  THE CAST OF BEING HUMAN!!  It happened so fast that I didn't grab them for a picture, but got a nice one of my Sam.  We also ended up seeing Nick Swardson from Grandmas Boy, a G4 personality and The Punisher, Thomas Jane.

We ended up resting there for 2 hours, by that time the Being Human cast came back around and just hung out right in front of us.  I walked over and said hi to Meaghan Wrath and she was pleasantly surprised to find out my name was Megan too, and I got a picture with her.  The other seamed busy and were all talking with Thomas Jane, so I didn't want to butt in...but someone else decided to, sooooooo.....

I was able to get a picture with all three of them and Sam Witwer had his arm around me nice and snug :)  I was so excited afterwards that I didn't see if the Hunny wanted a shot with his Sam the werewolf...soooooo

We grabbed him and the Huny was super happy to get a shot with his man crush:)  This MADE both of our SDCC!!!

After this the zombie walk was coming to an end where we were standing, so @The_Gamer_Geek was happy to be able to catch the tail end of it.

This was hands down, THE best SDCC day I have had in the 3 years we have been going!  Next year I'm just going to camp out in front of the Hard Rock Hotel!  One more day to go!!!

Nerdy 4 Entertainment Weekly

I began noticing Entertainment Weekly {EW} when my Harry Potter obsession began in 2001.  But it wasn't until 2006 that I gifted myself the magazine as a subscription for my birthday.  Since then I have been loyal if not obsessed with this magazine.  Every Friday or Saturday when it arrives in the mail I take an hour to read it cover to cover!
EWs I cannot part with!
It is the unique cover photos that makes me love EW.  Being a photographer myself and a nerd, I love when the two come together to create something awesome!  All the covers that I LOVE I hold on to.  They have been a HUGE inspiration to me in my own work.  And if it wasn't for the hunny our house would look like my tween bedroom with these amazing photos covering our walls.  Of course my dream job as a photographer/nerd would be to work for EW.  Every year during/after Comic Con I long to see the awesome portraits that come out of the convention weekend.  I drool over the prospect of that job.  What Mike Muller, the photographer, gets the actors to do in his photos, brings out their most comfortable side, it is amazing and inspiring.
Right before I began my subscription, was when the Twilight phenomenon was beginning.
I LOVED the 1st Twilight cover, it was unique and it is one of the reasons I began subscribing to EW.  But years later they have not ANY Twilight covers as good as the 1st one.  Usually now the covers are just posed pictures of the starts.  The latest one looks like a still from the movie, and I cannot get over that her jacket makes her look like she is pregnant.  Placement people, it is all in the details.  Let's keep the creative juices flowing guys, that is THE reason I first bought the magazine.  The cover is what draws the customer to the magazine...if it looks like every other magazine why buy it?

I LOVE what thetvaddict.com did when they were tired of seeing Twilight covers.  I was browsing through Google pix of EW and saw this one and was like WHAT???!!!  How did I miss this one?!
Of course it was not real.  You can read their article here.
Guess EW FINALLY heard the fandom and Joss was featured on the cover in August of 2013.

EW's inspiring photos are only the tip of the iceberg, in my love for this magazine.  All the TV/movies/books/music/pop culture things I nerd out about are all here in this ONE magazine EVERY week!  Its nice to have a place to go that has people who understand what you LOVE and LOVE it too!  I have gotten TONS of recommendations from this magazine and they are all things I would have never heard about otherwise.  Thank you EW for feeding my inner nerd weekly!
EW watching as I write this blog!
*To close here are a few of my favorite covers*

What ARE YOU NERDY FOR?!
