9 year blogging 👩🏻‍💻

In 2012 I was happily married living in San Diego, working part time as a pre-school teacher and nanny. Hoping to soon become a stay at home mom.

Now in 202, living in Denver, I've just started on a new career path in HR. Taking the bus to work, in my new apartment and 3rd one alone. I am one year and two months single, for the first time ever! Trying to eat breakfast before 8AM. I think that is the toughest thing right now. LOL

It was actually back in July. But I wasn't ready then. I've not written on the blog much this year. And so much has happened. I cannot wait to share my 2020 journey with you.

7 YEAR BLOG-IVERSARY! 👩🏻‍💻

7 years of this blog! Can you believe it? It has been such a constant in my life, it has evolved with me to help me become the person I am today. It has brought me so many great friends and memories. Thank you nerds for sticking with me for all these years, allowing/watching me evolve and for your continued support!

Every year I grow more and more. That didn't happen prior to my divorce, I felt like I stood still a lot before. I'm not even the women I was when I moved to Denver 3 1/2 years ago. I couldn't be more happy. I've grown up a lot and in so many different ways. Here are my lucky 7:

THE NERDY GIRLIE 6 YEAR BLOG-IVERSARY! 👩🏻‍💻

6 years of The Nerdy Girlie! Can you believe it? It has been such a constant in my life, it has evolved me into the person I am today and it has brought me so many great friends and memories. Thank you nerds for sticking with me for all these years, letting me evolve and for your continued support!

Here are my top 6 favorite adventures since I began The Nerdy Girlie after San Diego Comic Con 2012.

The Nerdy Girlie 4 Year Blog-iversary + Giveaway!

Is it a coincidence that my blog-iversary always ends up around San Diego Comic Con?!

No. No it is not!

I started this blog four years ago because I fell in love with everything SDCC. The city, where I lived, the panels, the swag, the celebs. But I soon found out it wasn't about any of those things. Those things were great and made Comic Con what it is, but my SDCC is about my friends.

• If it wasn't for SDCC I wouldn't have started this blog.
• I wouldn't have my best friends.
• I wouldn't have the courage to write my words.
• I wouldn't be living in Denver.

SDCC started it all for me in 2009 and I didn't even know it. It changed my life in a good way. It let me express myself and it's helped me grow as a person and find life long friendships.

So even though I won't be with you all at Comic Con 2016, I'll be dreaming of next year and continuing to be happy I FIGURED OUT MY PLACE IN TIME AND SPACE.

I have a giveaway for you all to help celebrate the occasion, but first my top four things that have happened since starting this blog!

1. Finding my friends. Through this blog, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Female Geek Blogger G+ group, we have found each other. I am so grateful for each and every one of you. I can't believe I get to be apart of such a fun, loving and caring group of nerds!

2. Finding my voice. I've never really struggled in my life before. I had it easy. But when I decided to get a divorce, easy was no longer an option. And I'm grateful for it. It helped me live the life I dreamed of living and it helped me find my true and honest voice. 100 Cups of Coffee wouldn't have happened either and I'm so proud of what it is becoming!

3. Being brace in the face of the unknown. This past year or so has been rough. Thank you for being there every step of the way and helping me through. With comments, tweets, emails and texts. You are amazing!

4. Being on a San Diego Comic Con panel. After SDCC brought all the happiness into my life. It came back full circle and I finally sat up on the stage of the place I had been going to for seven years. Thank you Comic Con and Tony Kim for making that dream come true.

The Nerdy Girlie 3 Year Blog-iversary!

I cannot believe that it has been three years since I began this nerdy blogging journey! This past year has been:

• An adventure
• Rockin'
• Eye opening
• Heartbreaking
• Amazingly happy

& sometimes very lonely.

After my best San Diego Comic Con yet...I know that the last one is not true. Thank you nerds for showing up for me. For all of your kind words, hugs, laughter and encouragement. I REALLY needed it and I'm not afraid to admit it.

Blogging is such a solitary thing. As well as this NEW adventure of being single. But you nerds remind me everyday with your tweets, texts, comments and likes...that I'm not alone. That we are on this journey together.

SDCC is ALWAYS the highlight of my year. This 7th year at the con was very special because I was able to sit on my very first panel. Help throw two successful parties, Geeks Go Glam and SherlockeDCC year 3 + be surrounded by my favorite people. I NEVER dreamed any of those things would happen 7 years ago...or 3 years ago. SDCC and YOU have made my dreams come true.

The Nerdy Girlie's 2nd Anniversary!!

I am driving down to SDCC NOW and it is only fitting that today June 20th, 2014 is The Nerdy Girlie's SECOND birthday!   I am so happy to be able to share with YOU all my favorite tips for conventions, my Everyday Cosplay and thank your for bearing with me on my love for A Silent Film {I hope you're listening!}!

I am so grateful for anyone who reads my blog.  Writing is what I love and have since a very young age.  It only took me 30 years to realize that, yes this is what I really want to do!  Thank you everyone for coming along on this ride with me.  I hope you know how much your love, comments and support mean to me!

Can you believe SDCC is THIS week!  Only 3 days until Preview Night!!  Tomorrow morning I go pick up The Music Maven and The Gamer Geek.  Tuesday morning we are back to the SD airport to pick up Nerd on the Run!  I CANNOT WAIT to see everyone and be back in my favorite city!  Here are just SOME of the places you will find me at SDCC 2014:
