The Honeymoon: Day 7, Let's Go Home 🇬🇧

...And just like that, it was finally time to head home to Denver. With a lot less stuff than we arrived with, but full of more love in our hearts for each other.

To make the trip home smoother, I booked us a hotel at Heathrow Airport. This gave us a chill morning to wake up, have breakfast and leave the hotel with way less than we came with.

We hadn't told anyone about the robbery so as soon as we were safely on the plane, we breathed a sigh of relief and let our family know what happened and that we were on the plane home. We hugged each other and fell asleep.

As soon as we got home, I ran in and gave Simon the biggest hug, he was super happy that we were home.

And then the emails began to flood in. While we were driving around London in a panic, trying to find out stuff, getting new passports and stocking up on supplies, we had racked up a bunch of traffic fines. Our rental car company SIXT sent us 4 traffic fines after we returned home for 130.00 GBP each. After a lot of back and forth I was able to have them at least refund the 40.00 GBP administration fee for each ticket.

Luckily the process of filing an insurance claim went so much smoother. We had already been making a list of all of the items stolen along with gathering receipts for their purchase. Our insurance company pushed the claim through quickly and were super kind and caring about our situation. After the deductible, we were able to use the money to purchase some items that we really wanted to replace and used the rest to get new floors for the house. Something we had been RELLY wanting.

So in the end, we lost a lot of things that we realized didn't matter that much in the end. We were able to get home safely, up date our home and be happy in that home together! And now to vacation from that vacation. LOL
