Since the honeymoon didn't go to plan, we found ourselves heading back to London on Thursday instead of Cambridge as planned.
I had to cancel our Cambridge AirBnB and portion of the trip, but was able to stay at the Park Hyatt London River Thames as a very well deserved honeymoon treat. It was within walking distance of the Embassy and we were able to park the rental car there. Our Embassy appointment was the following day so we had a full day to spend in London.
I had always wanted to go to the Tower of London, so we hopped on a bus and made our way over there. Right next door is the oldest church in England. We stopped in there to light a candle for my husband's father, this is becoming one of our favorite travel traditions. It keeps him close to our hearts.
Inside the Tower of London was the the most perfect sunny day in London. We had been getting great luck on the weather, making up for the catastrophes that has befallen us thus far. We ate lunch in their cafe. I had one of the best caesar salads along with an Elizabeth sponge. So good! We saw the crown jewels and they were setting up for Remembrance Day which was a special sight to see!
On the way home we stopped at a small Italian restaurant, where we ended up being the only people there. We digested the trip thus far and expressed thankfulness for the way we were both handling the experience and each other. The day ended with an amazing sunset over our river view room. In the end the experience and each other is what matters most.
