I am not usually a quick reader, if I read a book a month, that is a good month. But with Fangirl, I was done in a week {that is good for me!} and when I was done, I MISSED the characters! That is how you know it is a good book, when you are done and you miss your "friends."
Fan girl follows Cath into her first year away at college. Cath is consumed with writing fan-fiction for a Harry Potter like novel, on her Tumblr like website. In between chapters you get a glimpse at the original author's writings and Cath's fan-fiction. See how Cath navigates through her first year away at college, first loves and growing into your own identity {which I completely related to}.
Magic/fantasy, social media, blogging. All my nerd bases were covered!
I highly recommend this one to ALL the fan-girls out there! Rainbow Rowell is someone who understands our passions/obsessions/loves.

DeleteSo good. Rainbow Rowell develops her characters so well. They have flaws and imperfections that make them relatable. A fanfic writer protagonist sounds like a strange premise, but it works!
