Who to Follow on Twitter for San Diego Comic Con 🦉

👉 Grab my Comic-Con checklist here

Since I began at SDCC, every year Twitter has helped me more and more. In 2010, it gave me a chance to have Nathan Fillion sign my Serenity comic. In 2011 I got into the Nathan Fillion panel at NERD HQ at the last moment. In 2012 it gave me the chance to get in line early at Nerd HQ to get a picture with Elijah Wood.

My suggestion to you is to turn on the Twitter notifications on your phone during SDCC to alert you to potential awesomeness. You are going to get a LOT of tweets, but at least there will not be a missed opportunity!

I began attending San Diego Comic Con in 2009 on a whim. My husband at the time was a professional and he was able to get free passes for us, so I said go for it since we were living in San Diego. Looking back on my SDDCs, I have learned a LOT and every year has been better than the last! Here I will share with you what I have learned and loved most about SDCC.

One of the most exciting things about San Diego Comic Con {well almost EVERYTHING is exciting} is the SWAG (STUFF WE ALL GET)! Who doesn't love free stuff?! Here I will share my tips, tricks and experiences on SDCC swag!

Over the past few years of attending SDCC I have gotten picky about the swag I do collect, on the other hand, my Father is the "Swag KING." He will take anything and everything FREE! I know there are both sides of the spectrum out there, I hope that I can help out all of you :)

San Diego Comic Con Photography Tips 📸

Whether you are using a big ol' fancy DSLR or a handy iPhone, it doesn't matter you can get great pictures with BOTH! My number one rule for shooting cons is DON'T let your battery die! Otherwise you are out of the game. I charge my cameras EVERY night regardless of what the battery indicator says. Usually I just let them die, but for SDCC I don't want to risk it.

Here are my favorite tips and tricks for getting great photos with any camera!

I have witnessed a lot of things at SDCC. The good, the bad and the ugly. HERE is all the good. Now to tackle the bad and ugly. I have seen all of this first hand and I may have done one or two {side-note: I shower everyday}. But we can all work together and make this a great SDCC by observing a few rules and not worrying only about ourselves, but our fellow nerds as well. Let's start with what not to do...

What to Wear San Diego Comic Con

👉 Grab my Comic-Con checklist here

San Diego in the Summer is a fickle beast. The EARLY morning lineup could be cold. Afternoon lines are HOT. Then evening strolls will be cold again with the breeze off the ocean. Lines inside the Convention Center also tend to be on the cool side with the AC. Here I give you my tips on what to wear in and around San Diego Comic Con!

Join The Geek Girl Gang!

Like many of my blogger friends, I met Meli on Instagram. By accident! One night. Scrolling through a nerd hashtag. There she was. An adorable nerd lady, dressed as my favorite Doctor {10}. I just HAD to be her friend.
Meli and I at SDCC 2014!

A friendship was born that late night. And it has only grown.

I want to introduce you to Meli's brain child Geek Girl Gang! We are all apart of it already, she just made it official!

Want to make it official?! Check out her awesome new tees in her shop!

*Geek Girl Gang
*Comic Con is my cardio
*Full of feels {we all are right?!}

SO I was lucky enough to be able to get one of Meli's first tees and dress it up Nerdy Girlie style! Check out my three looks below!
This is my go to everyday outfit. If I have my TOMS, a shirt to layer and my jeans I'm a happy nerd. Bonus points to anyone who gets my nerdy and girlie tees!
I think I might have been a hippy in my past life because I adore long skirts and headbands! The Comic Con tee pairs perfectly!
Check out a close up of my accessories! Quidditch anyone?
And last but not least, if I'm going for a run or just lying around the house on my Sunday here is my go to look. The most comfy pants you can find, a cozy nerdy tee and sneakers incase I have to go for a La Croix run!

Ready to get geek chic? Head on over to the Geek Girl Gang shop and get your tees now! I'm excited I already have one outfit ready for San Diego Comic Con 2017!
