Salisbury, England has a history dating back over 5,000 years. It is famous for its stunning medieval cathedral, home to the best-preserved original copy of the 1215 Magna Carta, and its proximity to Stonehenge. Visiting, for us, it the perfect spot to be inside history and make our own.
We were tired and scrapped the agenda for the day. My husband took over planning and gave us the perfect tour of Salisbury.
First up a farm, it was another beautiful day so we were able to see a lot of animals, pet them and take photos. It was relaxing being around the animals and I could tell that the stress of the trip was washing a way. We ate lunch on the farm and then headed over to the famous cathedral to view the Magna Carta.
It is hard to fathom something so old, which is why I love England. So much rich history to indulge in. It makes me think bigger than myself. Neither my husband or I are religious, but we enjoy the peace and beauty that comes with entering into its history and tradition. Inside the cathedral we light a candle for his dad and think on him in this moment.
We are reminded everyday how lucky we truly are to have each other and a life together to share these adventures, good and bad. Watch my Salsbury video wrap up.
