Christmas Staycation: The Surf Hotel

When thinking about what I wanted for Christmas this year, one thing came to mind. Vacation away from work and celebrating with an experience. When I found Surf Hotel on Instagram via Artifacts Uprising, I booked a night at the hotel right away as a Christmas getaway for myself and Ocean Eyes.

It was the best thing I could have done!

The drive from Denver to Buena Vista is a a little over two hours, you drive out of the big city and wind through the Rocky Mountains until you hit a tiny out of the way community where new houses line the blocks and the Surf Hotel presides over the entire village nestled up against a flowing river.
We arrived on one of the coldest days of the year and hungry! Luckily there was a restaurant inside the Surf Hotel, but first check in! We were lucky enough to get our room upgraded, a first for us both! We rushed up to the room to see what was in store!
The room could not have been more perfect. The decor and style was exactly what I'd want my dream house to be! Royal navy blues and bright whites. The bathroom was large, great lighting and a glorious shower. The shampoo and conditioner was even from England!! #swoon

There was a kettle and Nesspro machine right as you walked it. The bed was large and the most coziest I've ever had. The room was surrounded by large windows letting in the mountain sunset and a wrap around balcony that had views so stunning.
After dropping off our belongings, we headed straight down to the restaurant: Wesley & Rose. Ocean Eyes had his favorite Margarita pizza and I had pesto pasta! Both were incredibly fresh and warming. The price was perfect and we even got 10% off for staying at the hotel.
Though our stay was only one night, it made a huge impact on the both of us. We cannot stop telling everyone about it (hence this blog post) and are already planning our trip back for either the summer or when the trees change in the Autumn...or both!

If you are coming to Denver, or Colorado the Surf Hotel is a must for the perfect mini getaway!
