5 Fandom Friday: My Favorite Things About Winter

I don't get much of a winter here in LA, but the last couple of weeks have been SUPER "cold!"  Winter isn't my most favorite of seasons {Autumn is! #pumpkinLUV} I do miss the snow a smidge, though not enough to ever move away from my beloved SoCal!

This is how I spend my SoCal winter!
1.  Mocha Coffee with Marshmallows and Sprinkles.  I JUST discovered this amazing drink over Christmas.  I had it three times in two days and made myself vow it only be a one day a week drink.  It is so decadent and the sprinkles just make it so much more fun!
2.  Rain.  Just throw in some rain with my new drink and I'm a happy camper.  Since I don't have to travel for work, it is nice to curl up on the couch with my hot drink, laptop and watch the rain while I work.  Bliss.
3.  Chunky Scarves.  Any scarves really!  I have about 20!  Which The Hunny thinks is odd for someone who lives in a warm climate.  I love how they feel like you are wearing a hug!  My Mom made me the one above for Christmas this year and one last year that I was able to wear on my UK trip!
4.  Twinkle Lights.  Every year I say I am going to leave these twinkle lights up on my bookcase/record case year round.  I just love that they make the apartment feel more homey and warm!
5.  Layers.  In addition to scarves, I have a fair few cardigans, sweaters and light coats.  When it gets down to the 60s here in LA I am able to layer on a tank, cardigan, light coat and scarf...LOVE IT!!!

Sorry/not sorry for my warm winter bragging.  I have to give it to you guys who suffer a real winter!!  I am definitely a baby when it comes to begin cold!

That coffee almost looks too pretty to drink! (emphasis on "almost" - I want to try it! I might need some assembly instructions.) You are such a talented photographer.

I'm from the Manchester UK so when you mention the temp is in the 60's and 'scarf' in the same sentence my reaction is bahaahaa...ha! I do get what you mean though, I'm really mard and love/hate the cold so I'm sat here wearing a slanket (blanket with sleeves) looking like a right arse :0D It's nice to get a news letter from you again in my inbox and I'll drop by on a few 5 Fandom Fridays as I love reading them. The Bloke has also kept his christmas fairy lights up (at the window) and will continue to do so, for all the neighbours to see :0|

Our winter here has been more rainy than snowy and it's been so unnerving! All I wanted was for it to snow!

Megan Gotch said...

I do miss the snow a bit, hopefully you get some soon! xx

Scarves and hot chocolate have definitely been two of the best parts of winter for me!

Chunky scarves and twinkle lights are right up my alley. Also, there is something to be said for a rainy, cold winter day - breaks up all the cold, glaringly sunny ones!

This weekend is so freezing, I simply must try your mocha coffee concoction!

Done my first fandom five! I'm in the middle of Australia so I'm dealing with summer right now but it was a relief to think about winter! :)

Great list!! I love Winter! :D

I live in Scotland so a warm winter is such a bizzare idea to me!! Mocha with marshmallows sounds incredible, marshmallows make hot drinks 100x better, I had a cherry hot chocolate with marshmallows yesterday, it was delicious!

Chunky scarves are the best. I'd much rather have a California winter than these dreaded east coast ones.

I don't miss winter weather one little bit! Of course when it got to the 50s a few weeks back I felt like I was freezing. I've been obsessing over dirty chai lately! That mocha looks good!

I can relate to your kind of winters here in central Florida. Lovin' your winter faves and I totally have to try marshmellows in my coffee!

Morgane Lily said...

We have in common the love for hot drinks and scarves, I have many of them too ;) I kind of envy you the californian (is that a word?) winter, here this year is bad... because it's not a real winter (only ten days when it was minus 5°C and no snow) but not a nice winter either because it's raining most of the time. But nice top anyway ;)

Megan Gotch said...

Oi Morgane, that is crazy! Califonian is a word and I am a full CA girl! I don't love the cold, but enjoy the coziness it does bring! xx

Megan Gotch said...

Thanks Mel, i love it so much, let me know what you think! Hope you are feeling well!! xx

Megan Gotch said...

I LOVE Chai, and will deff be having that as a treat soon! xx

Megan Gotch said...

Thank you Caitlin! Can't wait to read yours! xx

Megan Gotch said...

Totally agree Dahlia! xx

Thanks Meghan!! xx
