1. Badge has arrived. Keep it in a place where it is safe until SDCC.
2. Hotel secured. The hotel sales have come and gone. If you were unable to get a room you still have a few options. East County of San Diego has lots of space and the Trolley to get you to and from the Convention Center. Tweet your nerd friends to try and find a place you can bunk. Lastly there is always Air B&B, or even more lastly you could always camp out in H Hall all weekend.
3. Parking passes coming soon. If like me you are lucky enough to live close to the SDCC madness, parking passes will be going on sale by MAY 20th. Keep an eye out on ACE Parking's Twitter account {@AceParking} for the latest info.
4. Cosplay in the works. This is something that I really need to jump on. Now is the time to coordinate with your group and begin to gather your looks!
5. Get healthy now so you can survive the marathon. SDCC is a marathon not a sprint and it can take down even the seasoned con goer {aka me last year}. So make sure that you are eating right and exercising now so that can be easily put into action during SDCC this year. An Englishman in San Diego has a fun series going on as well as Confessions of a Book Pimp.
6. Continue to save your money! There are SO many awesome things to purchase at SDCC. Save that money NOW so that you can have the BEST time in July. Putting a side a little bit each week can make all the difference.
7. Make sure your Twitter feed is full of SDCC pros! Check out our suggestions of WHOOO to follow on Twitter!
8. Practice your photography skills now! The more you know about how your camera operates, the better shots you get to take home with you after SDCC is over.

Break in any new shoes you will be using for the con - either regular wear or cosplay wear.
Great list!!!
Thank you D and great tip!! xo
Aww, I'm so jealous! Maybe one day I'll be able to make the trip down to SD. For now I'm just recharging after Calgary Expo last weekend.
Great tips. I'm always so exhausted after a con, so maybe I'll try to get into better shape before my next one.
Bookmarking this! This is my 7th year going to SDCC but I feel like I learn something new every year, and your tips are very helpful. It seems like every couple years there is stress about losing the badge email but thankfully I have them all printed out and saved this year.
Love the get healthy tip! I seem to always get sick after SDCC but maybe I should start training for it now like it's a marathon :)
Thanks for the great resources! See ya in three months!
Some good tips here for any con, really. One I would add is SLEEP. If you stay up late and get up early prepping for the con, you're shooting yourself in the foot for being able to enjoy it when you're there. You know, hypothetically. I would clearly never do such a thing. ;)
