7 Lucky Tips for San Diego Comic Con Badge Sales

We are all waiting with bated breath, constantly checking our emails and Twitter for any news on the exact date that SDCC badges will be going on sale and the time has come!

So while we wait, here are some tips to get you prepared for the SDCC badge sale gauntlet!
1. Practice. The link to the waiting room will be sent to you 48 hours before the designated date. If you don't see it, check your spam folder. Have the link all queued up and try clicking it as quickly as possible on all your devices. You don't want to be all twitchy when the BIG moment arrives. ONE cup of coffee should help this situation. Don't OVER caffeinate!

2. Strength in numbers. Gather your friends. This will give you more chances at snagging that golden tickets. Last year I had a girl go to team. You can buy badges for up to three people. Everyone must have their own member ID. I had all of our first, last and member ID numbers in a note open in a tab ready to go when I was out of the waiting room.

3. Breathe. Right before last year's badge sale, I took a moment to just close my eyes, breath and say a little prayer to the SDCC Gods {every little bit helps!}. Make sure you are only using ONE tab for the waiting room. More than one could mess up the waiting room process.
4. Patience. Though we all want to freak out when we get stuck on a loading screen, or no screen at all. There is NOTHING you can do about it. Go back to step number three and make sure to take a screenshot if there are any problems. Have your registration email on hand and TRY to relax.

5. Keep an eye on Twitter. There will be a hashtag agreed upon for the sale. Keep that up and many fellow SDCCers like yourself will be tweeting the happenings. What number they are in line, which badges are still available and also letting go of frustrations to those who know a thing or two about them. Use Twitter to your advantage and of course to make friends for the Con!

6. There's sometimes a resale lottery. After all the returns are made and SDCC has a handle on how many badges they have left, a re-sale could occur. This usually is sometime in June. In 2012 it went just like the original badge sale. In 2013 it was a lottery and in 2014, 2015 there was nothing. Only SDCC knows what will happen this year.
7.  SDCC without a badge. No LONG lines. No all nighters on the sidewalk. Enjoy the feel of SDCC without all the work. There is SO much to do OUTSIDE the convention center, that you could never be bored {The Nerdist, the Gaslamp, activations, parties, food trucks and TONS of swag}. Plus most of the exclusive clips will be on the internet, later, if not directly after the panels.

Now that you have your SDCC badge sale plan in place, make sure you are following @Comic_Con on Twitter, have your Member ID and email preferences set.
