Early 30th Birthday Present: LA Kings Hockey Game

December 2, 1993 game.  Kings vs. The Mighty Ducks
I asked The Hunny to surprise me with something for my 30th birthday, but then I decided I wanted to go to a Kings game.  I went 20 years ago on December 2, 1993 to see the Kings vs the Ducks.  Back then I was a super hockey nerd because of The Mighty Ducks movies and with my dad working at a hockey rink as well.  The 1993 game ended with the Kings winning 3-2.

The Hunny and I woke bright and early Saturday to head to the game which began at 1 p.m. at the Staples Center.  He even surprised me with a Kings shirt to wear to the game.  Though I knew we were going to the game, I had NO idea where we were going to sit.

We ended up only 4 rows back!!!  Technically two from the ice {the ones in front were like special VIP seats next to the player's benches }  We were directly behind the VIP seats closer to the Colorado Avalanche side.  It was so awesome!  I was pumped!

When I saw my first game at age 10, we were up as high as you can get.  I had brought my Wayne Gretzky card to get signed and security would not let me go down to were the bench was.  My poor lil 10 year old self! LOL An awesome thing happened though, my cousin and I won seats to go down close half way through the game which was such a treat!

I have the BEST hunny!

I couldn't stop talking about how close we were!

During the 2nd period the team mascot Bailey the Lion came over to make fun of the Avalanche and it was super funny!  The teams are incredibly good at ignoring hecklers.

THIS is how close we were!  LOVED every minute of it.  I have been looking at Stub Hub to see if we can go do it again!  I love cheering and getting excited.  What makes it even more fun is that everyone around you is excited too.  There was such a great energy in the arena.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY THE KINGS WIN!!!!!  4-1.

We sat all the way down there!  Here's a view from the top.

KINGS are #1!  I'm still not ACTUALLY 30 yet, Saturday is THE day and I'm actually excited for it!  We have so many great things planned for this year.  I have such an amazingly blessed life!
