flying solo // south dakota

I'm done waiting for someone to go places with. Time to get out and fly solo.

I had talked about going to Mt. Rushmore with my past partner. But we never went. NOW since it was only 6 and a half hours away from Denver, I felt like it was my time to go! Come 4th of July I headed up to see all that South Dakota had to offer!

Stay:

*Rocket Motel - The cutest place I could find on booking.com. LOL Not horrible for one night!

To Do:

*Mt Rushmore - Not the best thing in South Dakota but a nice check off the I've seen it list.

*Crazy Horse Memorial - So much more calm, peaceful and tranquil than Mt Rushmore. Highly recommend stopping by to learn the history and bask in the beauty.

*Cathedral Spires Trailhead - My very first solo hike!!! Two thumbs up!

Eat:

*Didn't plan this out well enough. Really wanted to get pie from Purple Pie Place but they were out...so I walked over to The Custer Beacon. Not great, but fed me. LOL

Shop:

*I did not need anything from here. LOL BUT at the Crazy Horse Memorial they let you take rocks from the memorial for free + when I got home I found a South Dakota mug at Goodwill. I LOVE that hack.

I would love to go back to South Dakota now that I've seen the main attractions, the nature is so much more gorgeous that I would have imagined! Badlands National Park is also on my list! Hope to see you again soon SD!
