What the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Means to Me

My brother and I have a fourteen year age difference and it wasn't until I fell in love with Doctor Who, that I fell even more in love with my little companion.  Of course we had always shared our love for all things nerd before, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Disney films, but there is just something about the Doctor that changes you.

Even though I am new to the Doctor Who community I have felt completely welcomed and now is the BEST time to be a fan of this FANTASTIC show!  My favorite episode has to be The Girl in the Fireplace.  I was hooked from then on and David Tennant became MY Doctor.

My brother has been joining me at San Diego Comic Con for three years now.  We are growing in geek-dom together and even dragging our parents along for the ride!

This past Christmas we bonded over gingerbread TARDIS'.  Discussing the Doctor and life.  The only thing we disagree on is which is the better Doctor ten or eleven.  This was the first time I stopped thinking of him as a child and more of an equal.  Together we are planning to cosplay at Comic Con for the first time.

My hope is that Doctor Who endures for another fifty years and continues to bring families together one adventure at a time.  Allons-y!
