Statycation In Golden, CO at The Dove Inn

I am so excited to share with you the staycation, Ocean Eyes and I took to the adorable little mountain town of Golden, here in Colorado. Golden is only about 25 minutes west of Denver. It is a lot closer to the mountains so you defiantly get that mountain town feel, it feels small and cozy as well. We were lucky enough to arrive on the most perfect Autumn day!

I found the Dove Inn on Instagram and thought that it was the most Instagramable place...so it would be the perfect choice for OUR staycation vacation in Golden! We were lucky enough to find a parking spot right out in front! There is plenty of free street parking which is always a plus!

Check in was super easy, there was an envelope on the door with my name on it, inside a code for the front door, and our room door. No key to loose!
We stayed in the Parisian room which had an over look to the front yard. The large windows had such beautiful light, the bed was cozy and there was even a "fireplace" which I super loved. We dropped off our bags and headed out onto the main street of Golden.
Golden's main street is full of shops and restaurants. So many great ones to choose from! We took them all in on our walk down to Clear Creek Farm. This was the perfect spot to leaf peep! The trees were gorgeous and the time of day was magical. After a leisurely photo shoot {gotta get that GRAM!} and walk back towards town we wondered upon the Old Capital Grill. This place was perfect for a very fresh Coors on tap. The plant can be seen from the main street! The brussel sprouts and oysters were to die for as was my pulled pork sandwich and the sweet potato fries!
Bellies full, we headed back to the Inn. I was so ready to cuddle into bed and watched Netflix after the 5K I ran that morning. Yes I know we can do this at home, but getting away from the normal routine of home is very liberating. You don't have to worry about dishes, laundry or any other chores, you can JUST relax, so that is what we did!

In the morning we were supplied with a wonderful array of Noosa yogurt {my FAVE!}, fruit, granola, bread and pastries for breakfast in the communal kitchen. We watched a video on how to do a proper French Press and it was so easy! I've been doing it wrong all this time! LOL
After enjoying our slow breakfast in the cozy living room, that was that. It was the perfect amount of time to relax away from home, forget about responsibilities for a few hours and to connect with one another with out any distractions.
What I LOVE about a staycation is.....

1. You are close to home.
2. You get out of your normal routine.
3. You get to concentrate on your mate, yourself or your friends.
4. You don't have to worry about the airport!
5. It is a lot cheaper than flying somewhere.
6. You get to discover the state you live in!
7. You can splurge a little bit ;)

Have you guys ever done a staycation? I did a couple by myself, one in Santa Barbra when I lived in LA and one in Salida, CO, which I LOVE! Where should we go next? I really want to see Breckenridge and Steamboat Springs!
