But as soon as I sat down in my car I said NO. You are not allowed to let this get to you. So I turned on some One Direction {judge away}, rolled my windows down and sang my heart out the entire way home. And guess what?! I felt entirely better by the time I got home {EVEN in an hour's worth of LA traffic!}.
The next day I was determined to continue my positive mood. As I walked into work that morning, I began to talk to myself about all the great things I had in my life. IT WORKED, I was genuinely happy the entire day at work and even had one of the best evenings of my life that very night.
Since then I've developed a daily mantra that I have since put on my bedroom door, so I see it was I walk out the door each morning.
My Daily Mantra

ReplyDeleteI think most people, myself included, get so caught up in feeling sad/depressed, they forget to stop and look at all the good in their lives. And once they do, they realize a lot of times there's more good than bad.
*hugs* Just remember there's nothing wrong with having a good cry too! Sometimes it just helps to get all those emotions out! Then you can brush them off and be on your way!
ReplyDeleteThanks B! Just had a lil cry...and moving on! LOVE YOU! xx

ReplyDeleteAh yes, I can definitely relate. Love the mantra, seems like a good idea to get in the habit of saying something like that, probably helps stop your brain from repeating the bad instead. Lots of love <3 hope everything's better.
ReplyDeleteThis is delightful, Megan. Not that you had a horrible day, of course, but the outlook that came from it. I love your mantra, and that quote is so wonderful. Good for you for finding the bright side.
