Moving On

Happy new year nerds....I have a big change happening within me this year.

I'm ready to move on from blogging and social media. I will still be here. But as you can tell from 2017, it will be less. I thought it important to let you know how my priorities have evolved in a year and it all really began with skipping SDCC last year.

1. My budget. At the end of last year, I was lucky enough to have an extra job, a small insurance payout, a bonus and a raise! Going into 2018, it was important for me to get my finances together. And that extra bit really helped. I was able to grow up a bit and get in contact with some of my monthly billers and get some of those down too!
2. My health. I started the year with a 5 day detox from the ladies at Tone It Up. For 5 days all I really ate was fruits and veggies. Guess what, I liked it! I loved waking up in the morning, having my normal cup of coffee brought to me by Ocean Eyes, then a morning "Mocktail" {water, lemon juice and apple cider vinegar} then leaving my coffee to go cup at home in place of a smoothie.

Lunch consisted of soup, and dinner was baked veggies and salads. I've stayed away from alcohol since New Years Eve and have been finding myself not thinking about it and my biggest nemesis sugar!

Ocean Eyes and I also joined a gym! I'm going to get back into running {get some more 5Ks under my belt this year} and add in some weight training. It is nice that we will be able to do it together and keep each other accountable. I've added it to our calendar and we start this week!
3. Our home. The holiday season was very hectic. With not much time off, I ended traveling, working and hosting. When the week after the New Year rolled around, Ocean Eyes and I did a big clean of the house. Putting away decorations, cleaning up after guests, purging and organizing felt amazing. It was great to sit back in an orderly house and think about what our new year was going to be like.

4. My time. After all of that clean and purging, I find myself wanting to clean my time. I deleted Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest from my phone. I've hardly posted on Instagram. I'm ready to put my time into reading which was one of my goals that I didn't complete last year. I have a huge stack of books and I'm excited to dive in and unplug.
5. Travel. My budget was number one this year because Ocean Eyes and I are traveling to Italy for my best friend's wedding. We also plan to make a stop in Paris where I really want to invest in a Louis Vuitton purse! I've been dreaming of one since I saw my Aunt Sheryl with one when I was young. To be able to save up the money to buy one myself after all my hard work will feel amazing. Plus it will be a reminder of my Aunt and something that I will have for the rest of my life.
The back of our Christmas cards this year, designed by Ocean Eyes!

This isn't good bye friends! I will always write when the spirit moves me, but I will primarily be on Instagram so please say hi to me there! My Facebook page is still up, you can connect with me there and of course there is email and text! I will always be around to share my ups and downs with you! I love you nerds, thank you for sticking with me all of these years!

I brought a Louis Vuitton bag for myself when we went to Paris a few years ago! Such a great investment and the store is near Laudree ;)

Even though I'll miss your posts, I actually love this... I took an unplanned hiatus from blogging this fall and it really helped me get my life together. Now I'm only blogging when I feel like and actually enjoying it again (without feeling like it's a chore or I owe anyone anything)!

Thank you @heatherbquinn! I feel like as soon as I said that inspiration found me! But that being said it's all about doing what you love! Good luck with your blog! xx
