5 Fandom Friday: My Must See List of Christmas Movies

Are you NEW to 5 Fandom Friday? Welcome and come join along! 5 Fandom Friday was created by myself and Super Space Chick in October of 2014, as a way to get all of our blogger friends keeping on task each week, building a community with our fellow bloggers and connecting with new and old friends once a week! We choose the topics, you do the writing! Let's get inspired together!

This is definitely one of my favorite times of the year {Thanksgiving being the other}!  I LOVE spending time with family, curling up on the couch and sipping something warm with ANY of these wonderful specials on!
1.  Garfield Christmas - One of the beginnings of my love of orange cats and what we ALMOST named our orange kitty.
2.  A Christmas Story - This has to be on the entire Christmas Eve night until end of showings on Christmas day!  It's a tradition!  Can you believe they made a 2nd one?!  Blasphemy!
3.  The Santa Clause - My childhood is filled with this movie series and they all hold such a special place in my heart.  This one was a fun twist on Santa and it being the first, is of course the best!
4.  A Muppet Family Christmas - I am dying for this to be on DVD but until then, it is still alive via YouTube!  It brings back my childhood.  I love this movie and the Muppets so much!  Great music too!
5.  Home Alone 2 - This movie gave me a LOVE for NYC during the Christmas time.  My first visit, I had to go to the Plaza and FAO Shwartz!  Tim Curry = awesome and one of the rare instances where I like the sequel more than the first!

{Honorable mentions go to:  A Christmas Toy, A Muppet Christmas Carol, Rudolph, The Grinch {animated and not} Arthur Christmas {which I NEVER wanted to see and watched and was GREAT!}, Pluto's Christmas Tree and of course my FAVORITE ballet The Nutcracker!}

I hope you get to catch your favorite Christmas movies on DVR and spend all Christmas watching and relaxing...that is my plan!!  Share your links below and don't forget to tweet me!

I miss the Garfield special so much! I can't remember the last time it was on TV!

Great choices! I forgot about Garfield - it's been so many years since I've seen it, but I remember being as excited to watch that one as I was about Peanuts and the other specials.

Would you believe that's not the only sequel to A Christmas Story? In the mid-1990s "It runs in the Family"/My Summer Story" came out, about the same characters. Bumpasses are there with their dogs, too. But it's an awful movie...

"The Santa Clause" - I just started giggling ... when the kid gives him soy milk! HAHA! That scene cracks me up! (here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBqLEzBha5U )

Ah, The Christmas Toy! I'd only seen that once, and to be honest I don't remember much from it, even if I liked it or not, but when I got a stuffed tiger for Christmas that year I named him Rugby after that movie. I had totally forgotten the name of the movie, or that it was a Christmas special that actually existed (as opposed to one I made up in my memory banks), thanks for that!

Thank God for YouTube! I hadn't even checked for Muppet Family Christmas on there, but I'll be watching it this weekend!!! Thank you!
(Also yay for the The Santa Clause! I remember when it came out, I had already stopped believing in Santa, but REALLY wanted to again after seeing the movie).

Love your list. I hadn't even thought about the Muppets when I made my list. I love them so much. Home Alone is still my all time favorite Christmas movie. Nothing can ever replace it!

Home Alone is my all time fave. I watched Santa Clause this year again for the first time in years and found certain parts a little weird. Another of my faves is Elf and Surviving Christmas.
