5 Fandom Friday: Characters I Would Name My Kids After

I am no where near ready to have children at the moment, but that doesn't mean that I don't have a running list of names I would use in the event!

1.  Lincoln {Prison Break}.  This is my TOP name.  My number one.  If I ever have a boy you can bet this will be his name.  I love how unique is, you don't hear it very often and it is strong which I hope my future children will be.

2.  Noelle. I'm not sure if this came from a show, but it is the one girl name that has always stuck with me. It feels so elegant.

3.  Richmond {The IT Crowd}.  I LOVED this character in the show, he made every episode he was in.  This is another strong name.

I'm dead set on Lincoln so I don't really have five names! Have you named any of your children/pets after your favorite character?! My kitty's name is Symba after the Lion King {just spelled different}  I cannot wait to hear yours!  Leave your links and thoughts in the comments below.  PLUS don't forget to tweet me for a RT!

Love, love, love that you chose Richmond from the IT Crowd. I'm obsessed with that show! I used to watch Friends reruns before bed, now I watch IT Crowd reruns. Also Lincoln is a solid name. And Prison Break was a great show... so good choices all around!

I'm a sucker for old fashioned names... if we ever have another daughter, her name will be Evelynn Shirley (Shirley is my grandmother)....as for a boy, I like Ethan Lucas, but Ethan seems to be super popular nowadays, so maybe I'll try and find something more unique! :)

I love the name Lincoln!! Plus, it has the added bonus of having the nickname 'Link' if you like, which just makes the Zelda fan in me squee with happiness haha.

Love your list. I'm still in the process of writing mine. I did actually name both of my boys after favorite nerdy characters. My middle child is Logan, Wolverine's "human" name. And my youngest is Toby, named after the baby that is kidnapped by the goblin King in the Labyrinth.

I love that Richmond made this list! And I also really like Noelle for a girl.

Noelle is my daughter's middle name! Great choice! And I LOVE The IT Crowd--particularly Moss. Come to think of it, Maurice (Moss) should've made my top 5, but then the name also makes me think of the Taun-Taun in Robot Chicken. >_<

Since you mentioned pets, I *have* to share my pet's names. I named my Schnauzer Rigby Malone (after Eleanor Rigby and Molly Malone's--an Irish pub in LA from which the band Flogging Molly got its name). My Akita RIP :( was named Kyoko Baggins (from the lyric in Happy Xmas by John Lennon, in which he and Yoko whisper Happy Xmas to his son Sean and her daughter Kyoko) and Bilbo Baggins...no explanation needed there. :)

I'm thinking there should be a Fandom 5 for pet name...there could be some pretty awesome ones!

OMG, Richmond. Yes. He's one of my faves from IT Crowd, and it's a legitimately cool name. Let's just hope he doesn't start handing out Cradle of Filth CDs at funerals. :)

Oh fun! I love that you have an IT Crowd name! My boyfriend and I have discussed Charles Xavier as a name, and I've thought about using my sister's middle names for girl's names: Marie and Jean, which could also be X-men themed!

Our dog's name is Link, like from Legend of Zelda. But sometimes we call him Lincoln Burrows, like the character from Prison Break, even though he's not named after him at all!

Oh, and our other dog is named Rocket, after Rocket Raccoon!

Richmond! Love it! I keep seeing references to IT Crowd today.

I already named my dog Stormageddon, Dark Lord of All. Coincidentally, I was wearing a Doctor Who shirt when we rescued him!

These names have been on my list for as long as I can remember:
1) Arwen (from LOTR)
2) Cordelia (from Shakespeare's "King Lear"... not from Buffy :-) )
3) Hugh (not sure why, I just always loved the name. It's very British!)
4) Fitzwilliam (my favorite character of all time from the best book ever written... Pride and Prejudice. And you could call him Fitz which would be adorable! )
5) Penelope (from Alfred Lord Tennyson's "Ulysses" and also the best character ever on Criminal Minds! )

The boy names I just like but the girl names have a bit more thought behind them. Each of those characters display an immense degree of faithfulness, loyalty, and honor in their respective stories. I hope that any girl carrying that name would have those qualities.
